Terminator and Arnold fans all over the world have been hearing recent rumors from so-called “sources" of Paramount Executives currently terminated the franchise and has no plans to bring back Arnold for additional movies in the series. Terminator Genisys made $440 million dollars at the world-wide box office, with a domestic of $90 million dollars. Originally, Genisys was suppose to be the first part of a trilogy which were scheduled for a Summer 2017 and 2018 release with back-to-back shooting, but both critics and studio executives were not happy and were looking for bigger profits.
While all the sequels after T2 have not been as grand as the first two, they were at least all good enough to keep fans satisfied and hungry for MORE! While critics panned Genisys, more than half of the fans (including TheArnoldFans and Skynet’s Army) fully enjoyed T5 and thanks to the fans and our voices on social media, we’ve let Skydance know we want MORE Terminator films!
According to an all new interview from Collider.com, Skydance’s David Ellison gave Terminator and Arnold fans some very promising news!
“We have resolved the future of the franchise and believe me its an incredibly bright future. I think where it’s going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2. We have something this year that we will be announcing for the franchise. It’s something we’re incredibly excited about and we think is the direction it needs to head.”
Now here’s our thoughts at TheArnoldFans: Considering Arnold will be over 70 when cameras roll on T6, we believe Schwarzenegger WILL still play the iconic Terminator, however, we think he’ll be in CG form as his youthful self! Going this route, the star will no doubt lend his voice and if Arnold gets a computerized treatment, we’ll probably also have multiple T-800 Schwarzeneggers! We believe the T-800 will be bad in the next installment for a few reasons.
1. TheArnoldFans spoke to a lead writer of Genisys who told us Arnold will turn bad in T6 and although that script may not see the light of day, it does at least tell us the BAD T-800 was approved by Skydance. So Skydance likes the idea of bad Arnold returning!
2. A CG character will lead itself better to a villain with less dialogue and more action.
3. Skydance’s David Ellison says the next film will be a "continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2”! And as every hardcore Terminator fans knows, WE all want Arnold to return to being a bad-to-the-bone killing machine again AND we want the future war!
With Arnold in CG form and lending his voice, Terminator and Schwarzenegger fans could be celebrating for many more Terminator films to come! What would you like to see In the next Terminator movie?
