Arnold Tweets the 1st Official "Journey to China" Photo In Chan's Honor!
The first official picture from the set of "Journey to China: The Iron Mask Mystery" (also known as VIY 2) has been released by none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. Arnold shared the picture in honor or his good friend receiving an honorary Oscar on November 12th for starring in over two hundred films and contributing billions to the worldwide box office.
Arnold publicly congratulated Jackie Chan on his achievement via Twitter: "Congrats to my friend Jackie Chan on his fantastic honor - after 200 movies, you certainly deserve this Oscar. You always inspire."
Arnold and Sylvester Stallone sat at Jackie Chan's table when Tom Hanks introduced the martial arts entertainer! The humbled Chan was finally encouraged by his surrounding action heroes to get up on stage to say a few words.
"Standing here is a dream," proclaimed Chan. "After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, breaking so many bones, finally this is mine."
"Journey to China: The Iron Mask Mystery" is set in the 18th century, focusing on the English explorer Jonathan Green played by British actor Jason Flemyng. The story reportedly revolves around Jonathan Green receiving an order from Tsar Peter I to map out all of Far Eastern Russia, yet somehow finds himself in China.
China has invested $15 million into the action fantasy production as they see it as a potential blockbuster, especially due to the star power of Jackie Chan and fresh from Arnold's successful box office performance for Terminator Genisys in China. Journey to China: The Iron Mask Mystery is anticipated to become Russia's most expensive co-production of all-time with a total budget of $36 million and a film premiere scheduled for early 2017.
