7 STRONG Reasons Why Arnold Needs To Be Inducted into the CA Hall of Fame!

The 10th class of California Hall of Fame inductees has just been announced with the gala event to follow on Wednesday, Nov. 30, held at Sacramento's California Museum. While I am impressed with the latest class that includes Harrison Ford, George Takei, Tony Gwynn, William J. Perry, Maria Shriver and other inspirational individuals, we are perplexed as to why Schwarzenegger, the iconic epitome of California, has not yet been inducted.

Maria Shriver tells TheArnoldFans that the perfect inductees are "remarkable individuals who have each made their own unique mark on our world." 

For the past nine years, I have attended the red carpet arrivals at the California Hall of Fame and hope to attend the 10th this year as well. Schwarzenegger, during his Governor years, spoke to me several times at various Hall of Fame carpet arrivals and told me who was being inducted and why. He gave us many good reasons for which individuals made the perfect inductee and now, looking back, I see Schwarzenegger not only made his California mark for himself, but he transcends the criteria.

"These individuals exemplify the unique and boundless creativity of California,"said Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. "Their work has enriched the lives of others and remains an inspiration to all Californians."

If not to be honored into the 2016 Hall of Fame, anything past a 2017 induction is doing California an injustice of its greatest representatives. Arnold IS California.

Here's our list of 7 strong reasons Arnold Schwarzenegger needs to be in the California Hall of Fame.

1. He put Muscle Beach on the map! Thanks to Arnold's era in bodybuilding, he, along with his fellow muscle builders, settled a community in the heart of Venice Beach, California. To this day, his gym, Gold's Gym, flourishes with a new era of fitness athletes, and his old workout hangout of Muscle Beach remains a current and active California beach landmark.


2. He made 3 billion dollars at the box office. With the majority of his movies filmed in California, Schwarzenegger's projects, including "The Terminator," "Twins," "Total Recall" and "True Lies," have provided thousands of jobs for film crews, brought in millions to the state economy and placed Arnold as an A-list action hero and icon of this golden state.


3. He founded the After-School programs. As a charitable philanthropist, Schwarzenegger has co-founded The Inner City Games in 1991 and is the current founder and honorary chair of the After-School All Stars, which provides comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them
   succeed in school.


4. He made California the global leader in clean energy. It's true that Arnold wasthe 38th Governor of California, but let us not forget that it took a Governator to pass the The Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32).
   "Arnold's best contribution, without a doubt," Governor Brown began to tell TheArnoldFans, "was his contribution on climate change and his willingness to sign the Global Solutions Act and to speak in California and throughout the world.
   He gave us the thrust that I continue today in California, and because of that we're the leading state in province dealing with this profound challenge of climate change."


5. He passed the redistricting reform and open primary to make our politicians more accountable. Having the courage to fight for policies that best support this system was a trademark of the Schwarzenegger administration.


6. He invested more in rebuilding CA infrastructure than any other Governor. In November 2006, the voters approved the first installment of that 20-year vision to rebuild California. Thousands of new and renovated classrooms have been built throughout the state, transportation construction projects are reducing congestion of traffic, and work continues on dozens of critical-level improvements.


7. He taught us the proper pronunciation of Kahlifornia. Sure we're having fun with this point but let's be real, there are only two ways to pronounce this great state, and Arnold's strong accent helped coin one of the pronunciations that is recognized on a global level. "Kahlifornia" is not only associated with the state's most recognizable Governor, "Kahlifornia" is also an attitude -- an attitude that suggests that California is the place to be for food, wine, entertainment and living.
   While Arnold will always remember and cherish Austria, we know in his heart that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the most "Kahlifornian" of all.

Arnold would be a nice addition of other current political activists including George Takei, William J. Perry and Maria Shriver. Takei is a proponent of LGBT rights and active in state and local politics, and Shriver, an  merican journalist, activist and member of the Kennedy family, continues to share her political views. William J. Perry currently teaches politics as a Professor at Stanford University and while no longer Secretary of Defense, he still serves as director of the Preventive Defense Project.

The 10th class of California Hall of Fame inductees comprises acclaimed author Isabel Allende, film icon Harrison Ford, baseball legend Tony Gwynn, distinguished artist and social justice advocate Corita Kent, former U.S. Secretary of Defense and nuclear deterrence expert William J. Perry, groundbreaking journalist and former First Lady of California Maria Shriver, music business pioneer Russ Solomon and celebrated actor and activist George Takei. All living inductees will attend in person.

Members of the public are invited to view the arrivals of inductees and ceremony attendees on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in a public viewing area located in front of the museum on the corner of 10th and O Streets in Sacramento. Immediately following the arrivals, a live webcast of the induction ceremony will be streamed on the museum's website at CaliforniaMuseum.org beginning at 7:00 p.m.
