Schwarzenegger & Stallone on The Legend of Conan!

Over the last year, I've interviewed Arnold several times on red carpets and I met with him on a movie set. The bellow "Legend of Conan" collected responses were given to me by Schwarzenegger himself from several different adventures.  Sylvester Stallone, on occasion, would also step into our conversation. 

TheArnoldFans: Please tell me there is still a chance for King Conan . . . or is it truly dead now?

Schwarzenegger: Not at all. King Conan is very much alive. We’re just now stirring the pot (the future Conan star said while acting out a stirring motion with his all-powerful, sword-wielding, Wheel-of-Pain-pushing arms).

During The Expendables 2 panel at San Diego’s Comic-Con, I had another opportunity to get the message out and remind Arnold that our desires for King Conan will never die. 

TheArnoldFans: (Speaking to 6,000 surrounding fans with Arnold and Stallone listening) Arnold has a major announcement to make today, right here in the Hall of Heroes. That’s right, because Arnold is going to tell us NOW if he’s going to do King Conan!

Stallone: You may want to give this guy a lift back home. You’ve got a lot to talk about.

Schwarzenegger: (finishing a good chuckle, leaned in for his announcement) Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women!

Later, I asked Arnold, at age of 65, what his physical goal is for Conan.

Schwarzenegger: “Well, age doesn’t mean anything to me, because I work out every day. I work out twice a day, as a matter of fact. At night I work out with weights, and in the morning I do cardiovascular training. So for me, to get on the set and to swing the sword around again and to ride the horses and all those things doesn’t mean anything [does not scare me], because I feel like I did thirty years ago. So as long as I stay in shape, that’s the key thing, and to keep your body young. Even though you do feel the pain when you wipe out and when you do your fight scenes and you get more sore and the body doesn’t come back as quickly and all this . . . but just grind through it, you know? That’s what it’s all about!” 

While working the red carpet for Escape Plan, Arnold gave a quick Conan name-drop.

TheArnoldFans: Arnold, I was just talking to Sly about the possibility of you starring in Commando Vs Rambo. What do you think?

Schwarzenegger: I think there should be a Rambo, Rocky, The Terminator, Conan, The Commando, The Predator and Twins (Laughing). Everyone should come out and everyone should be in one movie.

Sylvester Stallone: (listening in our on conversation adds his 2 cents) Right, with Rocky, Rambo (all these guys). It would have like 9 heads. They should call it 'Ego'!

TheArnoldFans: (to Stallone) Arnold has done several film projects for you now. Do you think Arnold feels that you now owe him to be in one of his upcoming movies like Conan or Terminator or another film?

Stallone: Probably. I won’t do it though. No. No. I’m that kind of guy; no way will I pay back a favor

(smirks).
