Comic Con Survival Guide for Schwarzenegger Fans!

On Wednesday morning, TheArnoldFans will be off to San Diego to attend our 8th consecutive Comic Con and to bring the fans the best possible coverage for everything in the Schwarzenegger universe. Many of you Arnold fans are pumped about our hero hosting a fan-screening of Escape Plan but there's so much more to look forward to at this 4.5 day pop-culture mega event! If you're going to the Con this year, you'll want to follow my "Schwarzenegger Survival Guide" to be sure you get the ultimate experience! 

We still have a little ways to go before the convention doors open so additional Arnold toy exclusives, movie promos and co-star signings might still become available later. So be SURE to follow us on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest up-to-date info! Here's what I have so far!

1. The Summit Entertainment Booth. Get free Escape Plan swag! On the convention floor, Summit's booth located within the Grand Hall will highlight Escape Plan. Exclusive premium promotional items will be distributed to the attendees walking the convention floor. So far only this cool bag has been revealed but other promos to be expected are posters, shirts, buttons and hopefully a prison guard mask. 

2. The NECA collectibles booth.  These guys never fail to deliver the very best Schwarzenegger action figures! On display should be some new Predator Dutch figures and if we’re lucky some prototypes of Mac and Dillon figures. This year they have a comic con exclusive Albino Predator figure!

3. The Funko booth. They have about a dozen exclusive POP figures this year. Pick up the Predator “If it bleeds” POP figure that’s only sold here. While you’re at the Funko booth, you might see a Terminator POP prototype. Also be sure to tell the owners that you demand a TurboMan POP figure!

 

 4. Sideshow Collectibles booth. We’re hearing rumors that Sideshow will be debuting three new Arnold statues! Unconfirmed are these: a new T2 Premium Format T-800 Arnold, a new Endoskeleton and best of all, a new Conan the Barbarian PF statue! These are rumored so cross your fingers!

 

5. Don’t forget to bring your press photos and movie memorabilia to get signed by Arnold’s co-stars! There will be many of them around Comic Con!

 6. Mondo is excited to announce that it will return to San Diego Comic-Con 2013 with incredible new prints, including a Conan the Barbarian masterpiece and a variant!

The Mondo booth will be set up on the main conference floor in booth #936. The Conan print signing by Martin Ansin will take place on Thursday 7/18 from 11:30am-1:30pm. Join TAFs in line!

7. The Dark Horse booth will debut a new Terminator comic book around 2pm on Thursday!

8. For the past year, Diamond Select Toys has been celebrating the tenth anniversary of their Minimates toy line. With the anniversary coming to a close, DST is turning things up a notch by transforming one of San Diego's best eateries into Minimates Headquarters for the weekend of Comic-Con International! Taste and Thirst on Fourth, the home of some of the best wings in San Diego, will become the headquarters for Minimates fans beginning Friday, July 19th. The Headquarters will open to the public at 11 am, and will be the home of the touring 10th Anniversary Exhibit, with 10 years of Minimates on display all weekend, including figures and artwork from Terminator, Expendables, and many others!

9. Arnold’s zombie film Maggie! Although there are no scheduled events here for this film, TAFs will be creating our own excitement and promotion! We’ll be talking photos of hot zombie girls while hosting a “Maggie Zombie Costume Contest!” All female zombies participating in our Maggie contest are eligible to win the big Escape Plan prize pack!

10. While we earlier reported the sad news that there will not be an Escape Plan panel at this year's San Diego Comic Con, Summit Entertainment, Arnold and Sly WILL be promoting the film OFF SITE just a few blocks away! Stallone and Schwarzenegger will host a screening of Escape Plan at the Reading Cinemas Gaslamp 15 on Thursday, July 18.

Passes for the screening will be available through online giveaways, at the Summit Booth on the convention floor and via giveaway outside the screening location, the evening of the event, while supplies last. The fan line will open outside the theater (701 5th Ave.) at 5:00pm. Here fans will have another chance to score a ticket to the special screening and welcome Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger when they arrive on the red carpet.

TheArnoldFans will be present at the fan screening (and hopefully have a spot on the res carpet) so we'll get to see this film 3 months before it opens on October 18th. First-Ever Comic-Con 3D Printing Experience Will Allow Fans To Create Customized Figurines Featuring Predator Alien Holding Their Severed Head!!!

WHAT:

Nothing like it has ever been at Comic-Con before… Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is bringing an iconic franchise to San Diego as PREDATOR hunts for prey on the convention floor.

In a first-of-its-kind activation at Comic-Con, fans can enter booth #3528 and have their photo taken with state of the art cameras courtesy of 3D Systems.  Their image will then be used to make them the victim as a customized figurine is created using 3D Systems 3D printing technology that features the Predator alien holding the fans’ severed head!

The figurine is only available to fans that purchase the PREDATOR Blu-ray 3D, available exclusively for pre-order at Comic-Con and packaged in a limited edition Predator head for $129.99.  Fans can also receive the figurine with the purchase of a “headless” Blu-ray 3D for $49.99.

Additionally fans will get a first look at the all-new 3D transfer of the film before it arrives on Blu-ray 3D later this year as they enter the jungle that is ruled by the ultimate warrior that came from another planet.

Attendees can also participate in the “Hunt the Predator” challenge.  Fans who find the Predator, take a photo and upload it to their social networks with the official hashtag “#HUNTthePREDATOR” will be entered to receive a front of the line pass at the Predator 3D booth for an exclusive 3D printed figurine. 

The PREDATOR Blu-ray 3D will be shipped to all those that pre-order at Comic-Con when it is officially released in December.  The custom figurine will be shipped following the convention.

12. Fox Digital Entertainment and Angry Mob Games have teamed up with BDA, Inc., to demo AVP: Evolution on the MOGA Pro, a console-style game controller for mobile devices. Demos will take place at FOX booth #4229 from July 17^th to July 21^st and will include daily giveaways (while supplies last).
