TAFs Interviews Kim Jee-woon & "Last Stand Great Fan" Details!
Before I get to the interview with the movie's director, I want to let the fans know of the big Schwarzenegger party this weekend! A big celebration is being held wherever you have The Last Stand playing at a cinema near you! TheArnoldFans and Arnold Schwarzenegger want you all to get to the cinemas one more time THIS WEEKEND for a special "Last Stand Great Fan" celebration. This event is only happening on February 1st, 2nd and 3rd so please get ya ass to the party this weekend! Wear your Arnold shirts, bring your friends, your family or come alone...just go THIS WEEKEND! TheArnoldFans will be awarding those who attend the "Last Stand Great Fan" celebration with a gift if you take a picture of your Last Stand ticket (showing with the date). Send us the image and you'll be "deputized" by the sheriff and DOCUMENTED as one of Arnold's greatest fans for life! We understand several countries still do not have the movie playing at a theater near you so we'll have to do another celebration for you at a later date. For now, get ready to party with your fellow heroes one more time in the theaters this weekend! In the theater, you can talk like Arnold, cheer with your hero on the big screen, wear Arnold shirts and be sure to pose with the movie poster and send us a photo! This is it, Arnold fans...show Schwarzenegger that you're a fan for life by going this weekend! Get us those ticket stub photos and have a blast!
Now here's an interesting fact you may not have been aware of about The Last Stand. Did you know a beloved character DIED in the original version?
TheArnoldFans: I heard from an insider that the original ending was a bit sad and it was reshot because test audiences didn't like a character's death. How do you feel about having your original film altered?
Kim Jee-woon (by his translator): "It wasn't a sad ending, rather than it was to see a beloved character go. The change wasn't as radical as people might think but he was very happy and satisfied with the change."
Later I found out who the character was who originally perished unceremoniously. Kim Jee-woon's interpreter said Kim wants us to all guess who it was after watching the film. I won't mention who the character was as I too want the audience to guess.
At The Last Stand AFTER-PARTY, Brandon Krum from TAFs and I had a few more words with the director and his translator. We can look forward to some deleted scenes on the DVD and Blu-ray with the alternate ending death scene. Well done, Kim! The car action sequences are amazing! We look forward to more of your upcoming action!
