TAFs Exclusive Interview with Legendary Stan Lee!

What do you get when you cross Stan Lee's "Excelsior" with Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator"? You get the ultimate mash-up of "The Governator," the all-new action-packed animated cartoon series. Although this pumped-up Arnold-voiced series won't air until late 2012, I've managed to get the co-creator of the series, Stan Lee, to give TheArnoldFans several exclusive comments. Lee, best known as the writer and creator of the world's greatest Marvel heroes (Spider-Man, The Hulk, X-men and Iron Man) has now, at age 88, managed to bring to life our soon-to-be all-time-favorite action hero: "The Governator" played by Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger!




TheArnoldFans: Stan, Arnold has not been to Comic-Con since 2002. Can you tell us how much involvement "The Governator" might have this July at the 2011 Comic-Con in San Diego? Will there be a panel, promos and a possible guest appearance there?

 Stan Lee: The presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger will make this the most memorable Con ever.  Arnold plans to be on panels with me, do interviews, speak with the fans and do whatever else is necessary to make everyone aware that THE GOVERNATOR will be one of the most unique and exciting projects of this or any year! 

I've attended Comic Con for the last five years but this one will certainly be the best one yet. Stan Lee will unveil a prototype comic at his Governator panel and copies of this debut issue will be available exclusively for Comic Con attendees. The comic is officially planned but we may also expect T-shirts and other promo freebies! See you in San Diego Arnold fans!

TheArnoldFans: The Governator character, with so many outfits, gadgets and vehicles, lends itself to some fantastic hopeful merchandise. Are there already talks for action figures, cereal box cameos and more?

Stan Lee: As you say, the Governator is a property that lends itself to comic books, movies, TV, toys, games and all sorts of electronics.  Naturally, we have plans to explore all those avenues because we want to give Arnold’s millions of fans all the fun that following The Governator can bring.

TheArnoldFans: What is your favorite Arnold movie?

Stan Lee: I don’t want to sound like a sycophant, but there hasn’t been a Schwarzenegger movie that I didn’t totally enjoy.  It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think the Terminator movies have to be at the top of my list, and as for humor, I can’t remember seeing a funnier feature film than “Twins.”  

Stan Lee is also well known for making cameo appearances in hiscomic-book-adapted movies, so we can be sure to hear his beloved voice in what I assume will be the pilot episode. Click HERE if you missed the trailer.

Stan Lee: It has everything you want in an adventurous/humorous animated series. It has the greatest super-villains for the Governator to fight...it has new weapons and things that you will see that you've never seen before. I don't want to tell you too much, but I promise you this: The Governator is going to be Arnold's next biggest and best hit.
