A New Superhero is Born: The Governator!

We knew there was going to be a big announcement from Arnold around April 4, but it looks like Christmas came a little early, as Entertainment Weekly just broke the details about Arnold's "Comic Book" project that he first revealed to TAFs at the Classic. In typical Arnold fashion, it's something that nobody was guessing, but better than we hoped for! We've been calling him The Governator for a while, but now he's making that character an actual superhero, with only the world's best superhero creator, Stan Lee, helming the project! Behold-- The Governator!

Here's what Arnold himself has to say in EW's article:

“When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about ‘the Governator,’ I thought the word was so cool... The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And [this cartoon] brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies…” 

And here's a quote from Stan Lee:

“The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he’ll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger,” Lee says of the semi-fictional character. “We’re using all the personal elements of Arnold’s life. We’re using his wife [Maria Shriver]. We’re using his kids. We’re using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood.”

Are you excited yet? Well, don't get too excited, because we don't get to see the new cartoon series and comic book start until 2012, but you can bet TAFs will be covering every morsel they reveal about it until then. Like the fact that The Governator will be fighting a team of Super Villains called Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons. The short version? G.I.R.L.I.E. men of course! He will also have a techie sidekick named Zeke Muckerberg, and a collection of Super Suits and Super Vehicles at his disposal! Fantastic!
