Arnold Reprises Dutch Role in Predator: Hunting Grounds!
As we reported back in our exclusive from this year's Arnold Classic (which seems ages ago), Arnold has indeed lended his voice to the new video game, Predator: Hunting Grounds. Now with the official announcement, we learn to what extent, and it's really good! The game is out now for PC and PS4, and it's a multiplayer asymmetrical shooter where you can play as a part of a human team or solo as the Predator, and has a look and feel that is very reminiscent of the original 1987 film. The developer is Illfonic, who previously made Friday the 13th: The Game.
There's two parts to Dutch's role in the game. The first is included with a free update on May 26 and it's in the form of audio "tapes" you gradually obtain based on your character's rank in the game. These tapes contain new narration recorded by Schwarzenegger as if it was right after the events of "The Predator." The first one starts out by saying "These tapes are my personal testimony, insurance. Should anything happen to me, what I found won't be lost." This is really cool in that it continues Dutch's story, like the real sequel we never got with all the other Predator movies.
The second part is included in the first DLC pack for the game, also on May 26, where you can play as present-day Dutch! You can see from the image, it's Arnold's likeness, and absolutely looks the way you'd expect Dutch to today. The badass scars are a nice touch. And yes, Arnold also recorded assorted phrases for the playable character, like "Reload!" We'd be willing to bet there will be some getting to the chopper as well.
Read more about it and hear a sample in this EW article, and also check out the Playstation blog. Go buy Hunting Grounds and prepare for Dutch on May 24!
