Director David Ayer Talks Excitement for "Ten"! **UPDATED
David Ayer, who is directing Arnold's upcoming project, Ten, was at Comic Con last week promoting his new film End of Watch. When asked about his team up with Arnold, he had some pretty interesting things to say.
"This is going to catch people by absolute surprise. No one's ever shot him like that. This is Arnold 2.0"
Arnold's character will be the leader of an elite DEA team in Atlanta, Georgia, who apparently "get in a lot of trouble." He went on to say, "It'll be very experiential, very first person, very live, very real. I'm really going to flip [Arnold's] appearance. He's doing a lot of training, he's going to have the real SWAT skills, for real. I'm putting an amazing cast around him to see him interact and play." Ayer is very excited about working with Arnold, saying, "There's a lot more to him than he's been allowed to do."
Arnold has been on Ayer's mind for a while, as he also had written a script for a Commando remake, where he had wanted to reinvent the character to have more covert special ops skills. We trashed the idea at the time, as they were recasting the role and changing a character we love, but we have to say we are pretty pumped for Ten from his ballsy comments! Ayer also wrote the scripts for Training Day, U-571, andS.W.A.T. Ten starts shooting in just a few months.
**UPDATE** According to Variety: "Terminator Salvation" star Sam Worthington may be teaming with original "Terminator" star Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he's in early talks to join the former California governor in David Ayer's action-thriller "Ten." This is more fantastic news! Worthington was the best part of the deeply flawed Salvation, and would make Ten even cooler for sure.
