Although we know Arnold Schwarzenegger would be away out-of-town filming for his Netflix series, FUBAR, TheArnoldFans was happy to bring a birthday card with gift to his office is Santa Monica. We had a fantastic tour of his office and Ryan, the Gillinator, can tell you more details later but first, let’s continue on with more Arnold birthday adventures!
We started our morning off at Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach. TheArnoldFans went there for the purpose of a morning pump but we instead found Sylvester Stallone, who made a surprise visit and filmed for his brother’s new documentary. Not many people knew Sly was coming in so this was a very intimate and close-up experience with Sly. Only roughly twenty Gold’s Gym members followed Sly around as we watched to see what he was doing. After about twenty to thirty minutes, he made his way out. As he slowly walked by me, I told Stallone that I thought his upcoming movie, The Samaritan, looks good. He liked to hear that and thanked me but it must have been a little insulting for him to see me wearing a shirt with huge letters that read “ARNOLD IS NUMERO UNO.”
Can you believe it’s been twenty five years now that TheArnoldFans has become self aware? We launched in 1997 and on Arnold’s 75th birthday, we celebrated our big anniversary in style at the Wurstküche Restaurant in Venice. Immediately following our big morning at Gold’s Gym, we partied with the fans over some delicious brats and beers. Surrounded by Schwarzenegger decorations, fans were treated to Arnold trivia, prizes and cake as we toasted to our favorite hero. Before the cake was cut with a Conan sword, we all sang the birthday song in our best and loudest Austrian-attempmted accents. Following the party, some fans joined TheArnoldFans on our quest to the Arnold mural in Venice Beach and to see the wall built by Arnold and Franco.
In Austria, a large gathering of press and fans had gathered outside of Schwarzenegger’s childhood home. On a big screen, Arnold had called in from his gym break of filming FUBAR. After Arnold completed his reps, he greeted his fans and long-time best Austrian friends by video. Next year, TheArnoldFans might be attending the big party in Austria. See you all in Thal! We love to party with the fans and we can’t wait to meet many more of you at Arnold’s museum in 2023!
