Arnold Schwarzenegger shot a new video in his Santa Monica office to promote Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten, which will certainly remind us all of one of his best comedies from the 90s. Schwarzenegger always wanted to do a sequel to Kindergarten Cop and now his upcoming new animated series, Superhero Kindergarten, will give fans the chance to hear him back in the classroom! This time, however, Arnold will be a superhero and all of his kindergarten classmates will have new superpowers. Stan Lee thought up the idea not long before he passed away so this is Lee’s final creation. The comic book icon will also be seen as an animated character with several cameos throughout the series.
Genius Brands International gave TheArnoldFans.com this exclusive image of our favorite action hero in his green and black superhero costume! There’s so many unanswered questions regarding this rather mysterious cartoon series. Aside from the obvious super-strength, what will Arnold’s other super powers be? Why does he have a gopher-looking sidekick? Perhaps it’s on homage to John Kimble’s classroom ferret? What is Arnold’s superhero name and will the kids call him Mr. Kimble, Mr. Schwarzenegger or another name?
John Landis (director of Blues Brothers, American Werewolf in London, Thriller and Animal House) has just announced he’s teaming with Arnold on this series to direct some episodes. Genius Brands International also says there’s a possibility that Landis could do a live action TV series spin-off and a motion picture of Superhero Kindergarten with Arnold could be in the works!
Chairman & CEO of Genius Brands International tells TheArnoldFans that Schwarzenegger will not only tech children a valuable lesson in life but can also encourage eating better and the importance of exercise.
Andy Heyward:“Arnold is one of those rare people that makes everything he touches better. As a business man, as a performer, and as a creator, I am so excited to welcome him into the partnership with Genius Brands (Nasdaq:GNUS). Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten is a long time in the making for Arnold, who spent a lot of time collaborating with Stan to create this vision. He is deeply committed to the well-being of kids, and because of that, this series will not only be infused with fantastic Stan Lee stories of adventure and heroics, but will also feature lessons in health, exercise, nutrition, antibullying, and inclusivity. We can’t wait to share this series next year when it debuts on our Kartoon Channel!”
San Diego Comic Con will be held online and free this year. All events will still be held on the original dates, July 22nd-26th so we’re hoping Arnold promotes this series during those dates. Schwarzenegger will co-produce and will be lending his voice and likeness in animation. Watch Arnold talk about the series, aimed for an early 2021 release.
