The script is approved, the director has been chosen, official teaser posters have been revealed, and the studio has greenlit the project for a March 2nd, 2018 release date. The only thing which which was not made official, until now, was whether Arnold Schwarzenegger was in talks to return in the new Predator film, written and directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3).
During the the annual
Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave me a one-on-one exclusive update about 2018’s The Predator!
Schwarzenegger: "I haven’t talked with him (Shane Black) yet but I’m going to meet with him for lunch sometime soon. Just as soon as I’m finished with this (Arnold’s Sports Festival) and "The Apprentice" and all this stuff. But I will get together with him. If there is any news, we’ll of course let you know right away. There’s also a meeting coming up soon about Conan, about the project moving forward."
While we don’t know how big Arnold’s part would be in The Predator, whether it be the lead actor, supporting actor or a cameo, Arnold’s meeting with Black confirms Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer is in the studio-approved script. The studio, Shane and the fans ALL want Arnold back! Come on, Arnold, Do it! Do it now!!! Considering Schwarzenegger listens with great attention to his fans, we’re already celebrating the Arnold vs Predator rematch!
"Look, the fans are the most important thing because without the fans, I’d be nothing,” Schwarzenegger tells TheArnoldFans. "So I just always want them to know that I appreciate them very much; their loyalty, their dedication, and their passion about all the stuff that i’m doing. So, thank you."
Shane Black, Hawkins, from the first Predator film is directing The Predator with a March 2nd, 2018 release date. Look for more big announcements and panels for “The Predator” at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. We’ll be there! Plus, I'll be back to talk about other Arnold appearances and excitement from the rest of this fantastic weekend in Columbus!
