Not only did The ARNOLD FANS gain access to the celebrity-packed
Hollywood premiere of Collateral Damage - only to have Tom Arnold trip
on my feet in the theater, but I was also personally invited to cover the
Hollywood premiere to interview the stars arriving on the red carpet.
Randy Jennings here from TheArnoldFans.com. covering the Hollywood
premiere of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Collateral Damage! Stick around
for huge exclusives from the stars!
On Monday, February 4th, The press prepares themselves for the celebrity
arrivals outside of Manns Theater in Westwood, CA.
The sea of fans crowding the sidewalks couldn't get enough star-gazing as
they had all witnessed the grandest Hollywood star-studded premier this
year. Dozens of T-shirts and bandannas and cast-signed memorabilia were
handed out to lucky Arnold-chanters!
Lance Henriksen
Here's a big scoop! After I asked Lance Henriksen If his detective
character was considered permanently terminated or could we hope for a
return in Terminator 3, he told me we may see Vukovich possibly return.
As James Cameron had helped as an additional writer to the T3 script,
Henriksen informed me Cameron was toying around with the idea of having
detective Vukovich return in a wheelchair with some battle damage. As we
never do see detective Vukovich die, but only rather an implied death, many
Henriksen fans would love to see a return.
Lance also told me he was not upset when I asked him "if he was
devastated when he heard he was going to be replaced by Arnold to play The
Terminator." As we have all have heard countless times in the past of
Henriksen's original involvement to play the original CSM-101, now he tells
me he was not all all crushed. Because his relationship with Jim Cameron
goes way back, Cameron just wanted to do the sketches of Lance as a
Terminator and to have the cyborg with "a look" like Henriksen. Lance claims
he was really never seriously considered to play the part of the
Terminator...unlike OJ Simpson.
Maria Conchita Alonso
Looking as sexy as ever, Maria Conchita Alonso, star of The Running Man and
Predator 2, was confronted with my desire to know if she "still owns her
Running Man costume" as I fantasized about her wearing it there in front
of me. Unfortunately she did not. Maria went on to express her love for
Arnold and tell me what she considered was most attractive about the
Hollywood icon.
Stan Winston
Winston was thrilled to be called over to The ARNOLD FANS as none of the
low-foreheads in the media pen seemed to know who this elderly genius was. I
fired off three questions to Arnold's best friend and special effects master
Stan Winston but only one of them was officially answered.
Just a few short days ago, a rumor was flying that Winston was EXPECTED to
do the T3 make-up effects but he had not officially signed and it was not
guaranteed.
When I asked Stan if he had officially signed on, he confirmed it is now a
done deal and pre-production is underway. However when I asked him "If
audiences can expect an army of endoskeletons, say in the hundreds, to
appear at one time on screen" he could not disclose any big secrets at
but rather smiled and said we are in store for some real big battles as he
gave a somewhat knowing nod. When I questioned if "there will be any new
Terminator models he will create like dogs or other species" He simply
patted my hand, and gave a wink to say we are in for some all new designs
and surprises!
Tom Arnold
When Tom Arnold was asked by The ARNOLD FANS "to tell me about the
toughest stunt he needs to perform in True Lies 2 that he is not looking
forward to" he too claimed he couldn't disclose much information in
respect to James Cameron and his brilliant script. However, he did tease me
by telling me one of his biggest stunts is over-the-top and involves
"weightlessness". Tom confirmed to me that shooting of True Lies 2 would
begin next year... like he says ever year.
Gary Busey
Busey takes his time working the red carpet and stops for all press members
along the way. When approached by TAF, every celebrity who attended that
evening couldn't have been more happy to express their love for Arnold.
Tiny Lister Jr.
When Tiny 'Zeus' Lister, No Holds Barred and The 5th Element,
was confronted by me, he began to crush my hand when asked if he could "Take
Arnold" due to his enormous size. Tiny best decided not to answer that
question in his hopes to land a role as a Terminator in T3. That's a better
choice than Shaquille O'Neal if you asked me. Tiny goes on to express his
admiration for Arnold, however declined to give us his best Arnold
impersonation.
Rob Reiner
The famous director of When Harry Met Sally and This Is Spinal
Tap was stopped by The ARNOLD FANS to discuss his admiration for The Oak,
to tell us his favorite Arnold movie and to discuss the possibility of a
Spinal Tap sequel starring TAF tribute band when our complementary Arnocorps
CD was presented to him.
Jon Voight
Deliverance star stops by to express Arnold admiration, and to deny us of
his best Arnold impersonation. Voight tells TAF that the real reason he was
here was for his son who was there accompanying him. He assures me he will
check out TheArnoldfans.com after the movie. If only being an Arnold fan
would run in the family we would know that Angelina Jolie stops by often.
Ethan Dampf
Gordon Brewer's son is full of life! This kid is just plain cute right? What
a charming little tyke. Ethan tells us why he is an Arnold fan and after
MUCH prodding give The ARNOLD FANS a solid Arnold impersonation before
running off in embarrassment.
Andrew Davis
The ARNOLD FANS stops Collateral Damage director, Andrew Davis, to get to the
bottom of what scenes, if any, were cut. Davis tells us very little scenes
were taken out but does mention one or two - no big action scenes. I then
confronted him about "The Anaconda scene" but he assures me this was never
filmed and he had no knowledge of it from the later script he worked from.
*Remind me to tell you about The Anaconda scene. It quite possibly could
have been one of the potential greatest Arnold scenes...but that was another
story.
Cliff Curtis
Gordon Brewer's #1 nemesis gets to kick some Arnold butt on screen pretty
good so I had to ask Mr. Curtis if he performs many of his own stunts and
did he get a little bit roughed up by Arnold on accident while fighting.
Curtis did not as he expressed Arnold's utmost professionalism as an actor
and as a stuntman. As far as all the movie stars who were asked to
impersonate Arnold, Cliff Curtis was the second best. Great Arnold delivery
and material to make you think Arnold was near. His favorite Arnold movie:
Conan The Barbarian.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Thanks to our good buddies at Warner Bros., Arnold was lead directly in
front of our cameras as you can see. Naturally Arnold discusses why he is
the best, why he is the badest and why he wins the prize for doing the best
Arnold impersonation.
Come back later for actual video downloads to see the stars go one-on-one
with The ARNOLD FANS. Thank you for attending the Hollywood premiere of
Collateral Damage!
